My work sits boldly, and proudly, in the realm of cartooning; robots and bug-eyed children co-mingle with woodland creatures and ghosts in a colorful wonderland of hand-lettered typography. My work often explores themes relating to a simple, positive, and humble attitude that I don't see in today's fast-moving world, and was once described as “a modern take on a drug-crazed, 1930s brain.” I find my inspiration in old cartoons and advertising, curios found in thrift shops, and the simple pleasures of biking around in the rain.

The media used to create my work is varied: ink and brush, Photoshop, screen printing ink, acrylic paint, and even gold and silver leaf. I am also a printmaker and bookmaker, and have been publishing my own work, and that of others, for years.

My work appears regularly in the Portland Mercury, and some of my clients include the Children's Trust Fund of Oregon, Portland State Magazine, Tender Loving Empire, and Sock It To Me Socks. I have been exhibited in Portland art galleries such as Grass Hut, Floating World Comics, The Sequential Art Gallery, and Launchpad Gallery.

I was born in Minnesota, and like all Minnesotans am covered with a downy layer of fur with which to keep warm during the winter. I decided to trade in six months of snow for six months of rain and am now living in Portland, Oregon while pursuing a BFA in Illustration at Pacific Northwest College of Art.
